Summertime!

We are loving summer! Even being 30 weeks pregnant hasn't stopped us from enjoying the sunshine! I promised myself after the long cold summer I wouldn't complain about hot weather. We have spent lots of time at the pool. We took parent/tot swimming lessons in March and April, and even though I probably cussed every Saturday that we had to go, it was well worth it. The girls love the water and aren't a bit afraid. Not that it's more comforting or makes me worry about them any less, but at least they are super fun to take to the pool.

When we aren't at the pool, you can find us outside doing something... Can't believe how much my girls have used their water table. If you have a toddler, you should defineltey get one for your back yard. Between the water table, balance bikes, cozy coupes, and sprinkler... we get 1-2 hours of happy girls!
This picture not only cracks me up, but Sophie thinks it's pretty funny! Sadie is not a huge fan of the balance bikes.

Wish List

At 28 weeks, I'm definitely feeling the "nesting" stage of pregnancy! Already having two babies makes it important to be as organized as possible. I have been researching and online browsing and here are items on my wish list:

Since the girls were really small, they used their infant car seats WAY longer than most other infants. AT 2 1/2 they are still only around 23 lbs.... which means they "wore out" their infant car seats. Lynn and I agree that it would be nice to have a new one for the baby.

I'm very attached to our video monitor that we had for the girls but will now need two cameras for two different bedrooms.

I think with two toddlers, I will need a baby carrier. I used a friends when the girls were babies, so I will need one of my own now. I think that I will use it even more that I have two active toddlers.

I will also need a single stroller. I will still use my double BOB to run with, but need something more compact when I get out with the girls. I absolutely loved my snap n go so I wanted something that would hold a car seat and transition to a regular stroller.

Also, I will need new blankets/ sleep sacks .... I'm not afraid to use my pink girly blankets every once in a while, but know that I need some "boyish" blankets for when we are out and about. :)

And we could always use a few more bottles:

Luckily our swing/ bouncy seat and other contraptions are all gender neutral and in great shape! Getting excited about our baby boy!

Cravings!

One difference in this pregnancy is that I have been super hungry. Maybe I was with the last go around but just don't remember. Either way, I am constantly snacking! I found a couple of pretty good options:
Loving this sparkling water:
No sodium, No artificial sweeteners, No calories
I usually serve it over crushed ice in a wine glass with a lime. It makes me feel special.

My friend Emily introduced me to this stuff!  Loving this popcorn! I'm a huge popcorn eater. My usual is Pop Secret Homestyle, but I'm loving this instead because there is "No artificial anything" and basically lists all the reasons why you should eat it on the back. Only 39 calories per cup.

This is my favorite brand of frozen Edamame. It is an individual size and is around 100 calories with 9 grams of protein. My girls love it as well!

Sadie and Sophie's new fave :
My MIL introduced us to Silk Almond milk.  The girls love the individual sizes.

And I have to post this new recipe that I tried out this week! Lynn and I loved this little sweetness:

No Bake Energy Bites:

No-Bake Energy Bites

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yield: About 3 dozen

Ingredients

Method

Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl until thoroughly mixed. Cover and let chill in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Once chilled, roll into balls of whatever size you would like. (Mine were about 1" in diameter.) Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.
Makes about 20-25 balls.

Try these! They are awesome!

Wonderful Easter Weekend!

We had a big Easter weekend jammed packed full! The Easter Bunny stopped by our house Saturday morning instead of Sunday.... I wrote him a little note and asked if he could help make my life easier this year. Getting our family ready and out the door for church is enough for one Sunday morning. Couldn't handle adding chocolate covered fingers to that chaos.

After we celebrated at our house, we left for the golf course for a pancake brunch with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt.

In their pretty Easter dresses!

Happy Easter! We had so much fun hunting eggs, eating candy, and being with family. Easter weekend 2014 is over, but the most important part of the celebration lives on!! HE AROSE! The tomb was empty! Hallelujah!
